The trial garden at Young’s Plant Farm was full of vibrant color and bustling with visitors on June 4, the opening day of the Southern Garden Tour. In the heat and humidity of Auburn, AL, most varieties fared quite well. Trial Manager Penny Merritt-Price says the plants are grown in ideal conditions, including potting soil, drip irrigation, and low-volume fertilizer almost daily. She is excited about the landscape beds, with some at the trial garden having various genera planted together to reflect how consumers plant their home gardens.Check out the following slideshow with a few highlights collected from Young’s Plant Farm.
