Freck Beauty Founder Sells Brand, Steps Down

Freck Beauty, the Sephora-stocked brand that rose to prominence for its viral freckle pen, has been sold to an undisclosed group of owners, The Business of Beauty has learned.

Founder Remi Brixton announced in an Instagram post on Wednesday that she “made the hard decision to relinquish my role as owner and operator of Freck Beauty” in January of 2025. “As we know, the economy has been rocky for several years, making it extremely difficult for entrepreneurs like myself to acquire the additional funding needed to move forward,” she wrote.

Nameless CPG, a roll-up company that acquires consumer startups, is currently “operating Freck Beauty on behalf of a small group of investors,” said the firm’s co-founder Kate Herling. She specified that “Nameless CPG is not the owner of the brand.” Earlier this year, Nameless CPG announced that it had acquired Wander Beauty, its first beauty label in a portfolio that also includes wellness, snack and personal care brands. Both Herling and Brixton declined to share the names of Freck Beauty’s new owners.

Freck Beauty was founded in 2017, and previously received a seed investment round in 2020 from Stage 1 Fund and KarpReilly.

The brand’s debut product, a pen for applying faux freckles, rose to fame after becoming a viral sensation on TikTok and a favourite among celebrities such as Emily Ratajkowski, Doja Cat and Lady Gaga. Its beauty and skincare products launched in Sephora in 2021, and are still in stock on the retailer’s website.
