ICM Goes Blue for Autism Awareness
InterContinental Miami will once again pay tribute to Autism Acceptance Month throughout the entire month of April. For the fourth consecutive year, the iconic downtown property will gleam blue, and for the second year in a row, the hotel will partner with the Dan Marino Foundation (DMF) to help raise funds and awareness for this important cause. The hotel’s exterior and lobby, including the renowned Henry Moore “Spindle” sculpture, will be illuminated in blue, a color that signifies calm and acceptance. At Toro Toro, the Pan-Latin steakhouse located on the lobby level, guests can enjoy a limited edition Blue La Bomba dessert all month long. This specialty version of the restaurant’s famous interactive dessert is priced at $28; and features a blue chocolate half sphere filled with cream cheese mousse, dulce de leche, strawberry ice cream, fresh berries, cookie crumbles, and vanilla and berry sauce. A portion of proceeds from the month’s sales will benefit the Dan Marino Foundation.
Salsa Night Hosted by Salsa Lovers
Dance the night away at the hottest monthly Salsa Night in downtown Miami in collaboration with Salsa Lovers. On Friday, April 4 from 9PM to 2AM, be transported to sultry Havana for a night of dancing, entertainment and libations, plus unforgettable dance showcases from professional dance companies; and entertainment by Juano Y Orquesta Zara-Band and DJ Mini. Noche de Arte featuring Silvana Soriano, celebrating National Poetry Month
On Monday, April 7, and every Monday in April thereafter from 6PM to 8PM, Noche de Arte will continue its weekly art residency with a special emphasis on National Poetry Month, featuring local artist Silvana Soriano. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Soriano is known for her visual art and illustrations. Her artistic journey has taken her to various solo and group exhibitions. Beyond exhibitions and residencies, Soriano creates book illustrations, covering a diverse range from children’s literature to poetry. She is now also an art teacher and involved in an online printmaking magazine, currently working in Miami. Soriano will be in residence every Monday throughout the month of April, with works available for purchase.
Paws Patio™
Dogs and their owners ready to mingle, need to look no further than the InterContinental Miami – Best Pet-Friendly Hotel in the USA per Newsweek. Every Wednesday evening from 5PM to 7PM (weather permitting), InterContinental’s Bayside Terrace transforms into Paws Patio™, an open-air event that is free and open to the public. Water bowls are on hand for all canines, while adults can enjoy Dirty Dog Martinis, Mutt Mules and other libations from the cash bar.
On Saturday, April 12 treat your pup to thefourth annual Paws Patio™ Food Fest. This year’s “Pawty,’ hosted by a special pup partner – Funky Moet – will begin at 2PM and includes a live DJ spinning beats, photo opps, a complimentary swag bag and commemorative photo, and pup cups. Each ticket will also include a fur-ever Passport of Treats, which includes 10 samples of savory pup treats from local vendors such as YumPup, Raw Instincts and Moon Dog Barkery. Find Your Flow at Full Moon Yoga
Discover your zen as InterContinental Miami hosts Full Moon Yoga & Sound Healing on Tuesday, April 15 at 7PM. Guests can expect a one-of-a-kind yoga flow class led by Papa Guru Nicolay Del Salto on the hotel’s SkyLawn, complete with breathwork and sound bowl healing while enjoying nighttime views of downtown Miami. Internationally renowned Chef Richard Sandoval celebrates our connection to the earth with the return of his global culinary campaign that spotlights our interdependence on nature. Showcasing the importance of the world’s pollinators – bees – on which the global food cycle depends, Sandoval’s third annual interactive, multi-sensory plant-based culinary experience Viva Abejas (Long Live Bees) will take center stage at his restaurants worldwide, including Toro Toro Miami. Toro Toro will be featuring an exclusive, a la carte menu that includes plant-forward creations such as Coconut Tuna Ceviche – red onion, mint, radish, cucumber, avocado, Fresno chili, toasted coconut and orange blossom honey ($30); Charred Avocado Salad – rainbow quinoa, pea purée, radish, serrano, Meyer lemon confit and bee pollen ($24); Braised Short Ribs – agave honey, sweet potato, roasted heirloom carrot, chimichurri and grape demi-glace ($63); and Honey Cheesecake – honeycomb, blood orange, berry salsa and Alma Finca orange liqueur flambé ($23).
